A SPECIAL FORCES UNIT SENT TO INFILTRATE PINE GAP, AUSTRALIA'S TOP SECRET UNDERGROUND MILITARY COMPOUND, COME UNDER ATTACK FROM UNKNOWN FORCES.
Crawlspace is the award winning feature film debut of special effects makeup artist and production designer Justin Dix. In addition to the usual jobs of Production Designing and Makeup Effects Designer, Justin wrote, directed and produced CRAWLSPACE.
Produced in Melbourne by Wicked of Oz, the film takes inspiration from the films of Ridley Scott, John Carpenter and other classic horror and action films. With a crew of talented artists and years of production exeprience, Justin and his team worked within the confines of a small budget to create a film with production values and scope far exceedeing the available budget.
Merticulous pre -planning and an in-depth understanding of the film making process allowed for the fast production of large scale sets and numerous make up effects.
Simon Ozolins, ACS award winning Cinematographer, used Russian lomo anamorphic lenses paired with Red Epics to create the rich 2:35 cinematic imagery for the film. The music by Jamie Blanks, director of Urban Legend, was inspired by the soundtracks of John Carpenter's films.
Crawlspace had it's American premiere in 2012 at Screamfest LA and took home awards for Best Special Effects and Best Musical Score.
